THE CARBON KITCHEN
A working kitchen in a renovated refrigerated trailer in Fredericton, New Brunswick — turning rescued produce into shelf-worthy food, in small batches, at the bench.
OUR MISSION
The Carbon Kitchen rescues food — produce that was headed for the bin, turned into good food at the bench. We serve marginalized and vulnerable communities first. Everything the Kitchen makes supports the Eden Edibles and PAW Waste & Recycling Solutions mission.

FROM THE KITCHEN — RECIPES
Recipes from the bench, in the cook’s own words. Each recipe gets its own page as the shelf grows.
Recipe No. 1 — The Soup Kit
One black pouch, two servings at its base: our dried soup mix, an aged-basmati rice side pouch, and seasonings. The can is not in the bag — a can of broth or chunky stew, sardines, tuna, a butt tonne of options — that part is yours to add, and so is the protein.
What’s inside: the dried vegetable mix — zucchini, bell pepper, carrots (onions join with the next batch) · the rice-and-seasoning side pouch — aged basmati, 100 g, carrying its own label, and sold only inside a kit, never on its own · dehydrated potato flakes — that dehydrated potato makes a nice thickener.
The method, as it will read on the label:
- Add your own protein if desired.
- Cook the meat through.
- Add water to the pot.
- Add our soup mix.
- Pre-soak the rice for 30 minutes.
- Add a can of broth, or chunky stew, or something — sardines, tuna.
Serving honesty: the kit states 2 servings. Add a can and protein of your own, and the pot stretches to feed 3 to 4 — the stretch is the adds’ doing. First kits come together at the bench when the next batch lands.
Made in Fredericton, New Brunswick, in small batches. The feedstock is rescued produce — when the dehydrator fires again, the shelf refills. Local purchases only for now, until shipping is figured out: pickup or local delivery, arranged by contact — projectpawcarbon@gmail.com.
